The last episode of the first series was probably the best episode of anything I've ever seen, partly because of how much you needed to engage your brain. I can normally read shit on here while watching the telly, but not for that. Even Vexed's simplistic bile would have pushed me over the processing limit. I think I'll wait for the whole series before I watch it though.

Swiss, honest I don't think you believe that whether you like it or not. cant remember too many westerns that question the nature of freewill, consciousness and memory, and the ramifications of future technology.
I can understand how it can turn people off, if you don't give it your full attention you'll lose the thread in no time.

It's not about "full attention ' or "hard work". I studied at the BFI. The problem is it's badly directed and constructed. And certainly too drawn out. A "slow burner". more like smouldering ash.
After saying that I'll probably watch it.

Ignore Moose, it's the best thing on tv! and it does speed up second half the season.
Not sure how Swiss can moan about the direction either, it's beautifully shot.
